OUR MISSION:

BATTALION 22 is determined to reduce veteran suicide rates nationwide.
To accomplish this we connect, encourage, and challenge veterans to overcome the obstacles that they face and to live life on their terms.

OUR VISION:

We want all veterans, nationwide, regardless of circumstance or characteristics, to come together at BATTALION 22 meetings and events to support one another in meaningful, healthy, and positive ways.

CORE VALUES:

Confidentiality -
We offer veterans a safe space to share their thoughts and experiences to a sympathetic audience of fellow brothers and sisters in arms. What gets said in our meetings stays in our meetings.

Camaraderie -
We are structured much like the military in an effort to develop unit pride and trust in one another, and lots of bro hugs and horseplay are part and parcel of our meetings and events.

Personal Growth -
Wherever a veteran is in their life we encourage them to look forward, to see a better version of themselves, and we help and support them to achieve the goal of becoming that person.

Service -
We serve each other, we serve our families, we serve in our communities, and we serve others when the opportunity presents itself.

Robert Joseph Richter

Aug 2, 1980 - Sept 19, 2023

BATTALION 22 is the direct result of this man, Rob Richter, my younger brother. A former Marine and UCLA graduate, he seemingly had life figured out. His friends say that he was the glue that held them together, that he was the guy that all the women wanted to date, and the men wanted to be more like.

Sadly, Rob took his life in September 2023. Nobody saw it coming. NOBODY! He just didn’t fit the preconceived notion of a suicidal veteran.

If you are struggling please know that you are not alone, that you do have an outlet, that you do have people that understand.

BATTALION 22 is the place where you can connect, decompress, get linked to resources of every kind, find friends, find healthy distractions, and refocus on being the best version of yourself.
